This is because the Group on Ontology Maintenance, GOM, is now considering how to better create and deliver ontologies in new was from November 2025, onwards after the recent work to publish TC-211 codelist vocabularies via the Open Geospatial Consortium’s 'Rainbow' platform.

Persistent identifiers for Codelists and Code Sets have been implemented using the def.isotc211.org namespace.
The ISO/TC 211’s GOM has worked with the OGC to host many of the TC’s standards' codelists as Semantic Web vocabularies using the OGC’s reference data platform known as the 'OGC Rainbow'.
The ISO/TC 211 resources site have been migrated from the Norwegian Mapping Authority, Kartverket, to the new provider Ribose.
